LA and specifically its traffic had not changed and coming home to our mostly empty house was odd indeed. We ran some errands and saw friends that evening. And started getting ready to get back on the road for a little camping trip up at Big Bear Lake.
After realizing that we didn't really do much in the way of packing, we decided to hit the Santa Monica Farmer's Market to get some food for the trip and then pack and head up.
The Santa Monica Farmer's Market on Wednesday is one of the things I do enjoy and will miss about LA.. From the amazing yummies off the Border Grill truck to an overwhelming selection of local foods. I stopped off at several of the vendors that I frequent. We got some bison meat that we're going to skewer onto kabobs, along with some mushrooms and asparagus. I bought a chicken that we're going to try to cook on a spit over the campfire. And then some veggies to balance things out, along with some healthy snacks for the road. Those truck stops can wreak havoc on any sort of healthy eating attempt.
Then back home to pack. We left in such a whirlwind I had no idea what I left behind or where I left it for that matter. As I went in search of camping gear and such, it began to hit me how much more stuff and I mean stuff as in physical stuff, emotional stuff, logistical stuff, financial stuff, just lots of stuff to deal with.
So we just threw stuff into duffel bags and boxes and then just in the back of lil' Rav and got out of there.
