I have a really bad habit of starting a plan and quickly going off it. And again I have done that.
On Thursday I was determined to go for a run. I woke up a little later than planned, so couldn't squeeze it in before waking up Skye and doing schoolwork with her. I figured I would go for a run while she was in her Improv class. In the mean time I put in a good push-up workout. The only problem with that was it was 80F and sunny which in LA wouldn't be so bad, but here in Atlanta it is brutal. But like I said I was determined, so off I went. I also decided to give my larger Merrill Gloves a try. The last time I went out in the pair that were snug on me, I ended up with a couple of hotspots, right at the tip and bottom of my index toe. I've gotten blisters close to that area wearing traditional running shoes that were too tight, so I figured that might be the problem.
It wasn't. Not far into the run I knew that I was going to have a couple of tender toes. My lower back which had been bothering me recently also took a beating.
I had planned on doing more exercise at some point, but ended up cooking instead.
I made a couple of dishes I had done in the past, Garlicky Shrimp with Olive Oil and Garlicky Wild Mushroom Saute, very yummy but not very dietetic. It was the kind of dishes we had regularly in Spain and like we did in Spain we enjoyed it with wine, also not very dietetic. We ended up in front of the TV which as often is the case ends up with me falling asleep on the couch.
I woke about around 3 am and my back was killing me.
We had a field trip to a goat farm on Friday, so I wouldn't be able to make it to my jujitsu class. Well walking around the farm and then standing to listen to all things goat and goat cheese related for a couple of hours did not favors for my lower back. By the time we got home, all I could think about was resting. So I decided to make it my official rest day. And in the evening, I had a couple of beers, because it was my rest day after all.
When I got on the scale this morning, after enjoying some wonderful food at the farmers market, I was up to 206 lbs. I'm hoping that the scale was off, otherwise I had went from the 201.5 I was on Wednesday past my starting weight of 204 up to the heaviest I've been in a while.
Even though I don't feel so great today, I plan on putting in a good workout.
