Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
The last time we left Atlanta, I sort of knew we'd be back pretty soon and lo and behold, just a couple of months after saying our good-byes we were back and I was leading a show here.
This time, I don't have that feeling. If things go according to plan, and mind you they don't as often as they do, but if they do, we'll be in Baton Rougue and Cindy will be coming back with Skye for the mandatory ortho run.
I'll be back to decorating and exploring a new town and making new friends and new community.
But I will be missing my home-away-from-home of Atlanta.
I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with my X-3 Sports family, but as always they welcomed my family and I with huge open arms.
The guy on the right rocking some abs and attitude is a sweet soul who I got to roll with a couple of times and is now representing X-3 and Atlanta on the Ultimate Fighter
Helio Soneca is such a character and great instructor. Skye started taking jujitsu, encouraged in part by the lovely Lindsey.
The amazing Veronica, pictured to the right helped reintroduce me to yoga and made it a priority for me.
She's a great blend of styles. And makes yoga attainable and not too hippy-dippy. Another great X-3 instructor.
I missed my old buddies Kit, Nichole and Tony and never made did make it over to their new mid-town location. Oh well, next time.
Dirty Southern Burners
I was able to relive my Burning Man experience several time over with friends I camped with in BRC.
I did Santacon, birthdayed with Charlie and Ric on two seperate occassions.
New Years Eve found us at a circus/burner pals house with Skye rocking the trapeze they have set up inside their house.
Shannon Chw Joiner continues to be a wonderful supporter of me and my on-going adventures and is the backbone, in a lot of ways, of this non-traditional family.
But in our case, Circus Arts Institute has been the constant and familiar, welcoming us like family from the start.
Skye has blossomed so much since attending a summer camp a ways back.
So many fun memories.
