This blog post has nothing to do with soccer or football. The only sports events I watch with any regularity are NBA games with the Lakers, the Tour de France, and the Olympics.
The Lakers didn't do so great this year but they did just sign Steve Nash which is pretty cool.
Tour de France is still amazing even with all the taint of scandal and the fact that the guy I was going to be cheering for Andy Shleck is out due to injury. In Tour related news, that Lance guy is under investigation, again. I was curious about how he'd do in Kona.
The Olympics are just a few weeks away starting up on July 27 and going strong for a good couple weeks.
Goals, Priorities and Tic Tocs
With my birthday fast approaching and me getting closer and closer to the mid-century mark, I find myself taking a hard look in the mirror, both physical and virtual, real and figurative.
I most definitely will not be reaching my goals of becoming a certified personal trainer, or rocking a six-pack....by Saturday, my birthday. That said I do plan on achieving both while on this current Golden State adventure.
Time to get serious
I have been doing a pretty good job with the blog, posting fairly regularly. The rest of the jonofalltrades website and "brand" need some help or more acurately, time, which is becoming an issue with the whole "jack-of-all-trades" thing, but that is another story/blog-post.
Hello Jon D,
Congratulations! You achieved the Bronze One to Watch Medal for being popular in the community, and getting lots of followers - you'd better keep them interested!
Check it out
Keep challenging yourself,
I like the concept of Tribesports, but lately I've been starting more challenges than completing them.
Which brings me to two more topics that I have not been addressing;
More than just another four-letter word
Local 44, Union property person-- Yes I need to work some for the man
...and the money
...and the hours for my benefits.
So if you are in a position to get me some work, just a few days here or there call me, send a text, hit me up on face-book, e-mail or you can leave a comment here, not being able to get in touch with me isn't a good excuse, deciding which format, well that's something else.
It's not the next blockbuster movie coming out this summer.
Its a charity event that I am "competing" in, more like participating.
"It’s time to BRING IT to downtown LA on July 15, 2012. Concrete Hero is the ultimate urban obstacle challenge benefiting, AIDS Project Los Angeles. Join thousands of fellow Angelenos for a unique obstacle adventure through the city streets, united for one common goal – to support life-saving services for people living with HIV/AIDS.
Leap over parked cars in Carmageddon. Scale the “Hollywood Sign” with thousands of your closest friends. Swing your way over tar pits without falling in. Come face-to-face with the city's elements like you've always wanted. It's gonna be tough. It’s gonna be exhilarating. But make no mistake, this event isn't just for extreme athletes or gym junkies, it's for anyone who wants to challenge themselves for a great cause. So prove yourself in the chip-timed 5K Competitive Challenge or try the 2.5K Fun Run. Either way, you'll make a huge difference for APLA in helping the over 60,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in our city."
So I have signed up, I've been training but I have not been going after donations.
Donate Now just click the link and follow instructions. It's a good cause. Every little bit helps .In fact, make that my birthday gift.
On that note, I've got lots to do and the clock is a ticking, stopping for no man or blog.
