So What is Jon of All Trades?

The short answer is it's a website/blog I put together sharing my interests and adventures, successes and mishaps, my trades as it were, which as you can guess are many and diverse.  Along the way, I hope to pass on some things I've learned and maybe help others avoid some of the mistakes I've made. With that I'd like to invite you to join me on my journey. It will be a rambling course to be sure, so come visit often and put in your two cents worth. I'd love to hear from old friends as well as meet others who might take an interest in what interests me.

"Jack of all trades, master of none" is a figure of speech used in reference to a person who is competent in many skills but is not necessarily outstanding in any particular one.

A Jack of all trades may be a master of integration, as such an individual knows enough from many learned trades and skills to be able to bring their disciplines together in a practical manner. This person is a generalist rather than a specialist. A person who is exceptional in many disciplines is known as a polymath or a "Renaissance man"; a typical example is Leonardo da Vinci."  from Wikipedia

I would like to think of myself as a "Renaissance man" but have more often than once seen the advantage of finding one passion to follow. For better or for worse, I've made "variety is the spice of life" into my maxim.
